Raymond Vicks, Jr.
June 30, 2014, Ray retired from the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP partnership and relocated back to the Washington, DC area to pursue a Masters of Public Health degree in Health Policy from George Washington University beginning in August 2014. In March 2015, he joined the HSC Health Care System as SVP Finance and CFO, and currently serves in that role.
Service Across Industries and Markets: Through June 30, 2014, Ray served as an audit partner with thirty-three years of experience providing audit and advisory services to numerous healthcare organizations, including academic medical centers and schools of medicine, tertiary care and specialty medical centers, health insurers and managed care plans, long-term care facilities, physician practice groups and public healthcare agencies. Most recently served in PwC’s Northeast/New England Market and before that served our Southern California Market as the West Coast Healthcare Sector Assurance Leader. Prior to the West Coast role, served as the Federal Sector Assurance Leader at PwC and as a member of the firm’s Assurance Extended Leadership Team.
Boards of Directors : Ray served and continues to serve on various corporate Boards, including CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield, member of Audit & Compliance Committee; and Bishop Walker School for Boys, member of Finance Committee. He previously served as: Vice-Chair of the Board at Prince George’s Hospital Center and member of the Dimensions Healthcare System Finance Committee and as Finance Committee of the Providence Hospital Advisory Board.
Professional Associations: Ray is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Healthcare Financial Management Association, National Association of Health Services Executives, American Public Health Association, and National Association of Black Accountants.
Educational Background and Certifications: Ray received his degree (BS) in Accounting from Virginia Tech. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Massachusetts, Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He has served as an Adjunct Instructor — Accounting Program at Howard University. He is a member of the Virginia Tech, Pamplin School of Business Advisory Council.
